
James B. Toohey is a commercial real estate associate at Fuchs & Roselli, Ltd. He represents and advises businesses and individuals in a wide variety of commercial real estate matters ranging from industrial, commercial and multi-unit transactions to condominium conversions and commercial leasing and lending. He also advises condominium associations in the day-to-day management of association affairs.
Mr. Toohey graduated magna cum laude from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1992 with a degree in Communications/English. After teaching English at the collegiate and secondary levels and also serving as a head high school basketball coach in Pennsylvania, he shifted career directions and obtained a law degree from Loyola University Chicago in 2000. While at Loyola, he served as an executive editor of the law review, received Cali awards (highest grade) in both legal writing and trial practice, and wrote “A Standard with No Moxie: The Supreme Court in Arkansas Educational Television Commission v. Forbes Allows Government Actors to Choose Candidates for Television Debates with Little Restriction”, which was published in the law review.
After spending his first three years after law school as an associate at a large Chicago law firm, Mr. Toohey established his own practice in real estate at the Law Offices of James B. Toohey P.C. and then joined Fuchs & Roselli, Ltd. in 2005. Mr. Toohey is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association and also an active member of Catholic Charities in Chicago.
