
Steven M. Ruffalo graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1984. He began his professional career in the Division General Counsel's office of the Unisys Corporation in 1988 while earning his law degree from the John Marshall School of Law and his Masters in Business Administration from Rosary College. Entering private practice in 1989, he joined a Wheaton, Illinois law firm in which his practice became concentrated in civil litigation involving commercial and business related disputes.
Since joining Fuchs & Roselli, Ltd. in 1990, he has been serving the litigation and pre-litigation needs of many small to mid-sized family and closely held business organizations. Having significant experience through litigating, trying and settling a wide range of chancery and law cases in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana (including contract, statutory, business tort, partnership, shareholder, securities and real estate disputes, injunctions resulting from employee covenants and business interference claims, state and federal R.I.C.O. claims, contested estates, trust reformation, financial exploitation of the elderly and mortgage and mechanic's lien foreclosures), Mr. Ruffalo has achieved an “AV” rating (very high to preeminent) among his peers for legal ability, professional reliability, diligence and ethics.
Mr. Ruffalo has been admitted to the Federal Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Ruffalo resides in Glen Ellyn and serves as Assistant Village Attorney for the Village of Hinsdale. Mr. Ruffalo is an active contributor to the DuPage County Bar Association holding the position Chairman of its Labor and Employment Law Committee for 2002-2003, Co-Chair of the Business Law and Practice Committee for 2003-2004, General Counsel for 2004 – 2005, Chairman of the Lawyer Referral and Mediation Service and Director from 2006 until being elected as Third Vice President of the DCBA in 2007. Mr. Ruffalo currently serves as President of the DCBA for the 2010-2011 term. Mr. Ruffalo also currently serves as a Fellow of the American Bar Association, to which post he was selected in 2010.
