Mark H. Schiff obtained his undergraduate degree
in Finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign. After
obtaining his law degree from the John Marshall School of Law in
1977, he began working in a general business practice law firm
gathering experience in the areas of litigation, business and
corporate law, estate planning and real estate. Since the beginning
of his career, he has worked extensively as outside general counsel
for a number of companies and their entrepreneurial owners in high
technology in the Midwest, including computer resellers, service
companies, video game inventors and other advanced technology
enterprises. He continues to act as general counsel for business
clients ranging from small operations to companies employing over
400 employees, advising these companies in areas of contracts,
corporate law and planning as well as employment law. This further
includes the purchase and sale of businesses and succession planning
for the businesses and their owners. As a critical part of his
practice, since 1977 he has maintained a substantial and
continuously thriving practice in the field of civil litigation,
trying cases for clients of the firm in shareholder disputes,
business related and employment law areas.
Mark has worked for many years in various not
for profit endeavors including having served as a board member and
past president of an international children’s charity and after
serving as an alumni volunteer and board member for decades, he has
been elected to and will assume the presidency of his international
fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi, in August, 2008.
